Evening light on the little harbour enclosure at Beadnell, near Seahouses on

the Northumberland coast. In Suffolk, there are places whose

pronunciation you wouldn't guess from the way they are spelt, like Hoxne,

so I imagine you have to be careful how you pronounce Beadnell so that it

doesn't sound offensive. If you're not into watersports, Beadnell is not

much of a place, in all honesty, apart from the lime kilns next to the

harbour wall. But the dune-backed beach, as so often in Northumberland,

is wide and sandy and very pleasant for an evening stroll. A good bar or a

pub next to the beach would've been nice, but, well, you can't have

everything.
