The Northumberland coast has a lot of small coves and empty beaches that provide
many opportunities for this sort of abstract time-exposure photography. This is one of my
own favourites, taken with a x10 ND filter over about two minutes at a small aperture.
But like most work of this sort, you have to live there to be able to get the best of the
location, by knowing the place inside out and being on hand for the best conditions. (By
this axiom I like to think I've been able to photograph Suffolk in ways that a visiting
photographer might miss.) But at least I can say that long-exposure is now a technique
that I have started to get to grips with - so watch this space!
