Suffolk potato field
This has become something of a signature shot, as a lot of people seem to like it. Well, Suffolk people anyway. It's just a ploughed potato field somewhere over Harkstead way on the Shotley peninsula, south of Ipswich. I was lucky with the way the furrows lined up, visually parallel with the stark row of winter trees.
But I wasn't so lucky with the delay caused by spotting this picture and scrabbling around for an ND filter to tone the sky down a bit. By the time we got to the Ship Inn, which turned out to be at Levington, not Harkstead as I'd thought, they'd stopped serving lunch.
The thin black line (on the print itself) helps to define the edges of the picture
