'Before and After' image (Haughley tree)
I find it sometimes easy, but often troublingly difficult to photograph trees. They are beautiful creatures, but too often obscured by other elements that you don't want in the picture. This was one of those occasions, rescued by a judicious crop that eliminated the troublesome element of other trees and allowed me to experiment with creative tools to achieve the look I wanted.  And that, also, is often the case: you have a singular vision for a picture, but to achieve it you need to tweak and generally subvert the original image to your own design.
