I was never a fan of beach holidays, perhaps because of childhood
'holidays' in the 1950s in Cornwall (where we had relatives), which were
always rained off. But a few hours on this huge, almost deserted,
east-facing beach in Brittany were a delight, strolling up and down with
friends, putting the world to rights. These three on a mock wanted poster
had evidently been caught repeatedly putting their bowels to rights on the
beach, finally becoming canus-non-grata in the process.
