'Before and After' image (Pythagoras)
This otherwise meaningless picture has been given substance by a switch to black and white, an increase in contrast and a decrease in the brightness level, and the picking out with lightening and darkening brushes of individual elements in order to accentuate the idea of this being a demo of Pythagoras' Thereom. It was probably nothing of the kind, but it strikes me as being as good a way to explain the theory by moving wooden squares around as by any other method!
